Its been a great year for us here at Henry Photography! A lot of travel, growth, challenges and so much to be thankful for. The best way I know how to show you our year is in photos, both professional and a little behind the scenes!
Natalie & Bain kicked off our wedding season in Arizona! Coty’s cousin Ronnie is married to Becca and Bain is Becca’s brother! We were so thrilled that they wanted us to shoot their wedding and it was so nice to head back to Arizona! We took a little hike when we arrived, talked about the year and had the best time! I headed down to Charleston for Charleston Wedding Week and had an amazing time there. Its not every day you get to sit by Mindy Weiss at dinner then Lynn Easton. I walked around Charleston taking photos like a true tourist and jetted back home after a couple days.
In February we didn’t have any weddings but we did go to Texas for Amberle & Jared’s engagement session. We had never been to San Antonio and it was so great to get some sunshine while it was snowing at home! The rest of the photos are a little of our crazy life with three kids!
March was a fun month! Emily & Jake’s wedding was spectacular and they are simply the sweetest couple. The day after their wedding we went to Sea Island to shoot an engagement session. Sea Island is one of my happy places and it was so amazing to be back there, never gets old pulling up to that magnificent place! We then took the kids to Florida for a quick trip. Plans changed quickly as Molly got really sick right after we got there so we delayed our disney trip by a day. Note to all parents, don’t push it! We still went to Disney and we should have just cancelled the trip and waited. Ear infections are NO fun! We still got some smiles in!
April was a slow month for us, just Lexie & Matt’s wedding! Any wedding at the Statehouse is always fun and this was just a beautiful day! Their wedding is featured in The Knot Ohio so pick up your copy today! Our tree that we planted for our babies in heaven finally bloomed and we enjoyed the blooms for weeks!
We were honored to be a part of The Scout Guide and we kicked off our shoots in May. It was a whirlwind of shoots from May until August and it was crazy awesome. I had never been downtown so much in my life but I loved it! Our May weddings were nothing short of wonderful! Kristen & Andrew’s wedding is featured in The Bridal Guide! Molly’s last day of Kindergarten came in May and we were excited to kick off the summer!
Oh June. June was crazy. We had Four weddings, one a destination wedding, lots of Scout guide shoots, our tenth anniversary, The Southern Weddings BILTMORE shoot and much more. We stretched ourselves so much that month but I as so thankful to get to celebrate ten years of marriage!
July was SO fun! We had Samantha & Kevin’s wedding which was a blast at FPC! Then we headed to Lake Tahoe for Sarah & Craig’s wedding. Lake Tahoe is officially one of my favorite places! I did a lot of research before we went so I could find the best beaches. Well… what I didn’t realize was that one of the beaches I wanted to go to was a NUDE beach. Yes… we walked very swiftly passed that and found a cove to hang out in. It was amazing!
August was one for the books! We were honored to photograph Kurt Warner’s induction into the NFL Hall of Fame! Coty was bright eyed meeting so many players he has admired his entire life. Our dog is named Emmitt if that means anything to anyone! I did however meet Michelle Williams so I was smitten myself. She’s a doll and I love her!
September. Apple picking, weddings, working out, catching up and more weddings. It was a great month!
October was a lot like June, crazy but wonderful. The Scout Guide launched which was amazing, so happy with how it turned out. We shot Jessica & Kevin’s wedding in New York City and it was beautiful! I got to catch a runway show with Lindsey from La Jeune Marriee so that was exciting! Our Sea Island wedding was incredible and it was great working with Rhiannon Bosse! We had the kids join us in Georgia and its now one of my favorite trips with the kids to date. We found sea shells, sand dollars, at fried shrimp, watched the waves come in and took bike rides. I have a feeling we’ll be visiting St. Simon’s Island again and Jekyll Island!
Katie & JJ ended our year and they were the sweetest couple to finish up the year with! I had the pleasure of going to the Southern Weddings magazine launch in Chapel Hill. Coty had to stay back because Molly woke with the flu that morning. We battled a lot of sickness from September until November so thankfully we’re on the mend! It was amazing to see some familiar faces there and meet some people I’ve admired for years. To see the shoot in print was beyond fulfilling. Its been a dream of mine to be in Southern Weddings magazine and it was just amazing. The boys turned THREE so we celebrated with family. Colson had a ninja turtle cake & Cohen a dinosaur cake. Still cannot believe they are three!
December is a fun month for us. Molly turned 7, which is crazy! We celebrated with some girls from school & church with a Moana birthday party! We baked for two days straight and ate all the cookies and cinnamon rolls! We attempted a Christmas picture but with three year olds its almost impossible! Our crossfit gym has a comp every year and we shot that for them! Talk about an inspiration to eat better and workout more! This year has been full of so much joy but so many challenges. With three kids and a desire to find balance, we were thrown a lot that made is a little out of whack. This year we are striving to find more balance and do the things we love. As much as I loved traveling I know we’re cutting back and not doing it as much this year. Not to say that we don’t have a desire to travel but this year we’ll spread them out and make it easier on those who take care of our kids. We’re so grateful to all our couples who chose us to shoot their wedding, without y’all it wouldn’t be possible!
