snowed in!

So I guess when we went to the grocery on Thursday and it was completely packed and the lines were the longest I’ve ever seen them… that should have been an indication that we’d be getting a pretty big snow storm! Sure enough with 12 plus inches of snow later… we were snowed in. Worst part was I missed my Dad’s birthday. Stupid snow. So I got a little bored and took some pictures of the dogs. Can you blame me? My dogs are so cute. I have found out that the lighting in my bedroom is the best lighting in the world and I cannot wait to have babies and photograph them in there. I can settle with a niece for now. She’s going to have a million pictures taken of her before she’s even a year old! She won’t know what I look like without a camera! Anyways, we finally got out of the snow and went to my parents so I could wish him a Happy Birthday. It was nice to see him since he had been traveling for a couple weeks.

Please keep my Grandma Rosanna in your prayers. The latest news from the Doctor was not good but we confident that God has a plan, a plan bigger then all of us. I am very fortunate to know all my Grandparents and Great Grandparents, and I am so thankful God has given me that oppurtunity that a lot of people I know do not get. Okay so I’ll stop rambling. I wanna be a professional singer!

You know when you’re a kid and they ask you “What do you wanna be when you grow up?” Well I had a list of a lot of things I wanted to be… anything you could do professionally was on that list at one point. A news broadcaster was on that list when I was at Grace College and for a minute I contemplated majoring in Broadcast Communications… again this was for like a minute! I could have totally done it though… maybe not important news but I could have done the celebrity gossip kind of news for sure! Anyways, tomorrow morning at 11:00 I will be on Daytime Columbus talking about booking a wedding photographer, engagement sessions and giving brides some tips on how to get some great photos! So tune in, set your DVR or watch it later online… either way do not make fun if I trip over my words okay! There will be no mercy if anyone pokes fun at me! I will blame my mother who convinced me to do this!

Hello Brides! I hope you all are doing great on this fine Thursday afternoon. I was just outside with the dogs and our neighbor Suzie dropped by with her puppy Daisy, a boxer as well! I just can’t believe this weather we’re having… its like spring time already! I hope this does not indicate how hot it will be this summer! Anyways, since we have a little more free time to blog I’m looking forward to a couple things we’re going to feature on here. One of them being that I’ll finally be featuring Meleka with MMJ Events, that will be coming before March… I promise. Second thing is I’ll actually talk about something other than photography. Excuse me if I post one too many photos of our dogs for the next couple months! In the next week I’m going to do a year in review because I strongly believe that God has blessed our business more than we can imagine and I want to reflect on our past year and all the blessings he bestowed on us. And since a blog is not a blog without some photos… here are some from our doggie play date!

Chili and Quaker Oatmeal Squares

So I had the privilege of going over to my good friend Meleka’s house tonight for some girl talk, Chili and Quaker Oatmeal Squares (which are now my favorite snack) .  As extra played in the background about Heidi Montag’s 10 plastic surgeries in one day, we filled the evening with conversations of weddings, business and life. Sometimes its just good to get away from the computer, out of the house and cozy up on a couch and hang out with a good friend. After I left I was reminded of some photos from Nancy and Jeff’s wedding in October that Meleka planned. So many times I have brides come into our studio in a frantic state because the wedding planning process can be so overwhelming. I have to admit, wedding planning is not for everyone, every girl is not planning their wedding since they were 5 like some of us. I definitely see the pros and cons to a planner but with the RIGHT planner, you won’t regret hiring one.

Definitely keep your eyes peeled for some photo shoots coming up in the next couple months! Meleka has some great ideas to share with brides planning their wedding!  Here are some photos from Nancy and Jeff’s wedding in October! So I don’t think a lot of you know this but I used to do nails. Yes, me who hardly has the time to polish my own, used to make other women look beautiful. Well I used to work at the Charles Penzone Grand Salon at Polaris where I worked some very amazing women… and men. After I left the salon I always said I’d spoil myself and I think that has happened once since I left… its a sad state of affairs! So one of the very fabulous girls I worked with, Zeta (Nicole) approached me about her new like of accessories and I was smitten! I wanted nothing more than to help her get this line off the ground so we quickly organized a shoot on her friend’s rooftop and rounded up a couple beautiful friends and I had myself a full blown photo shoot on a roof.  I had such an amazing time and this is only a little sneak peek at her work… she’s amazing! I cannot wait to work with Zeta again and see more of her stuff! For more information just email me and I can get you her contact info! Now to Him who is able to do…

Hello All!  Some of you may know this already but Coty and I are believers. We both have been Christians since we were children and thankfully we have grown up in Christians homes. We have been taught the power of prayer and that no matter what the circumstance God is in control. I’m thankful that I fell in love with a man that shared the same beliefs as me and together we live as Christ would want us to live.

As some of you know, my Grandma has Multiple Myeloma, its a cancer that begins in the plasma cells, a type of white blood cell. These cells are part of your immune system, myeloma cells also collect in the bone marrow and the solid part of the bone. My Grandma had an MRI done and they found a couple tumors growing in her back. So they are not doing some extensive testing such as a bone marrow test today. Some of you may already know this but its very painful so we pray for God to comfort her in that time of pain and to keep her calm. We also pray for wisdom in our Doctors, as they run tests and determine what to do next. I’m very thankful that God has given them a wonderful Doctor that is very understand that we have a big family and is so good at what he does.  I love hearing that he’s aggressive in his work and he doesn’t take hard information sitting down, he acts swiftly. If you have a moment today, please pray for my Grandma Rosanna and Grandpa Phil. My Aunt Linda and Uncle Chuck (my Dad’s brother and sister) are both joining them in LA today for the testing. I know the whole family wish they could lay hands on her today to pray. Thank  you so much for your prayers, they are so greatly appreciated!

Lindsay & Kevin {Wedding-Teaser}

So I cannot wait another minute without posting some photos from Lindsay & Kevin’s wedding on Saturday! When it started snowing on Friday evening I could only imagine what Lindsay was thinking! I was hoping for a beautifully snowy day, but it ended up being this cross between rain and snow so it wasn’t as pretty as we hoped it would be, but we still ended up bearing the cold and taking photos outside. Lindsay and Kevin are we we always hope our couples are like… laid back and ready for anything!
