Adam + Katie = Baby Bump {Maternity}

I have to admit, I sort of convinced Katie to book a maternity session. She could possibly be the cutest pregnant girl so I couldn’t help myself. I started out by telling her these would be the last photos of just her and Adam before Roman came along and later on she might want to look back at the baby bump. I must have been a little sappy because she agreed. They were up for anything so it was such a blast to photograph them. Here are some of their photos from our shoot in Old Dublin!

untitled-1On August 21st, Roman Walter Dunn made his arrival! Weighing 8 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long! Congratulations on your new bundle of joy!

bow ties, navy dresses and awards

I love awards season! I sometimes don’t even watch the actual awards just the red carpet and that usually makes my night. I know in planning my own wedding I was taking note of what was popular and what wasn’t and I remember at some of the awards there were some women wearing dresses with a bow on their dress so I was excited that I was a little in style when I wore my wedding dress with a bow in the middle. Watching the Emmy Awards last night I’ve never seen so many bow ties, navy, white and metallic dresses ever! Bow ties are huge this year and with the right man they are so good looking. I’m loving the navy because I can see girls choosing Navy as their bridesmaid dress color instead of black this year. I personally love navy dresses, especially the ones from J.Crew! Anyways, here are some of my favorites from the night!

Boy? Girl?

So as most of you know Henry Photography will be adding a 3rd photographer, well at least we hope our baby will be a photographer like their mommy and daddy! Our doctor told us that they wouldn’t inform us of the sex of the baby until we were 20 weeks and being the antsy parents-to-be we just couldn’t wait that long. My sister had gone to get a 3-d ultrasound done to find out what she was having so we decided to go the same route. There were so many fun ideas we had of how we would tell everyone what we were having and it was clear that we would tell the family the weekend of Coty’s birthday since his family would be in town from Indiana. So on July 27th Coty and I went to the 3d Ultrasound place that would tell us if we were going to have a son or daughter. As we sat there in the waiting room I started to get so nervous about this moment. Then this family came out of the room and the woman that worked there said they were having a boy Coty turned to me and said “well they’re having a boy so we’re probably having a girl then. No way we’re having a boy too.” So when they brought us until the dark room that could literally fit 20 people comfortably she put the wand on my slowly growing stomach and 2 seconds later were the magic words “Its a GIRL!” I think Coty and I both said “are you sure” a couple times because it was so fast. Then the next moments were just as beautiful watching our daughter suck on her thumb, move around and stretch out. She had long arms like her me and we swear her head is shaped like Cotys, it doesn’t hurt that his head is shaved so its easy to see it! I loved her more that moment then I ever loved anything in my life. Those 3d ultrasounds are amazing though, what a business to have looking at babies, such a miracle. The moment we got home from our appointment Coty was already online buy our little girl Dallas Cowboys stuff. He now knows about the amazing website etsy.com and that you can get really cute hair bows on there… which he bought two!

A week later, yes a WEEK, we told our family. Coty wanted to give my mom a hard time so we made them wait until after dinner to share the big news. I had made a little slideshow with all our ultrasound photos put together and at the end were the 3 ultrasound photos saying it was a girl, so funny to watch my dad jump up and do a little dance because he called it. Everyone was convinced it was a boy, except for him! My Gramma Pat had even bought a little boy outfit which was hilarious! We are all so excited to add another girl to this big family we have, we also love the fact that my little niece will have a best friend so close in age!

Katie & Andy {Wedding}

From the moment I met Katie, I knew she would be one bride I wouldn’t forget. She had a classic and elegant way about her and so pleasant to be around. The morning of her wedding Alison Feamster was doing the makeup for the wedding party and Katie’s parents were mingling in the room. There were colorful folders on the bed with lots of checklists and a beautiful Tiffany’s bag with some goodies for the bride from the groom. Walking into the Buxton Inn to see the wedding party shuffle about the room was like watching a movie, everyone was calm yet so excited for the big day. I’ve said it before but I love shooting in Granville, and I love photographing Denison University grads as well. Every moment with Katie and Andy was at ease and watching him make her laugh was one of the best parts. I loved their vintage details right down to the gorgeous reception location, the Bryn Du Mansion. Katie & Andy, I loved working with you guys and it was an honor being a part of your big day!

Emily & Jason {Wedding}

I loved every minute of Emily and Jason’s wedding! First off they were so nice to their wedding party with the attire for the day, they were the dream bride and groom for what they wanted. Girls were able to pick their choice of little black dress and all of them looked fabulous. For the guys they were sporting gray pants, white shirts and black sandals from Express! Best part for the guys was that some of them were going to be in the Best Man’s wedding in 6 weeks wearing the SAME THING… hello?! How awesome was that?! Coty left saying he was going to pick himself up a gray suit because they were really great looking. I loved photographing them because they were so at ease the whole day and definitely in love! Their ceremony and reception was held at The Venue at Smith Brothers. They opted for heavy hor dourves from Camera Mitchells and they were amazing, especially the macaroni and cheese! Anyways, have I mentioned how much I loved shooting their wedding? Anyways, Emily and Jason, blessings to you both! Check out some photos!

Family Photos {Weddings}

So I recently was in a client meeting and they asked me about family photos and they wanted to see some. I looked around my studio, clicked through my slide show and realized there were NO family photos anywhere. I was happy I didn’t drop the ball completely and knew there were some in our albums but realized how important family photos are. I know its not everyone’s favorite part in the day, gathering all the parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and grandparents can be pretty annoying. Especially when you have a couple of people who are not excited that they have to be in a picture and try and hide behind the person in front of them… fyi you’re making my job harder! A lot of photographers would agree that family photos are not the time to dilly dally… get it done as quick as you can so you can get to the fun stuff. I regret wholeheartedly that I did not get a picture of my entire extended family at our wedding. They were all there, including my Grandma who passed away this spring, and it kills me to think that I didn’t get a photo. So when our couples ask for those super huge family photos, I put a smile on my face and take the shot then tell them to go and have fun at the reception. They may not put the photo in a frame on the shelf, but something may happen years later and they may look back on their photos and be so thankful they got a photo with their loved ones. Take a look at the family photos we took at Emily & Jason’s wedding! If I can take the family photos outside and its not too hot and it won’t be chaotic… I do it because the photos turn out great!

Brittany & Logan {Wedding}

I cannot tell you how much fun we had at Brittany and Logan’s wedding! Their excitement was contagious and it showed in all their photos. Brittany was a radiant bride and Logan was very handsome groom! Their wedding was held at Cherry Valley Lodge in Granville and it was a beautiful day to get married. From the moment we got there you could feel the love from everyone. Brit and Logan… I am so happy that you chose us to be your photographers. I cannot wait to see you two start a family because you’ll have the cutest little babies ever! You better call me the moment you do start a family because I’ll be ready to photograph! Love you guys!

Harolyn & Rob {Wedding}

Finally posting some photos from Harolyn & Rob’s wedding from June! I am seriously not this bad at blogging, I promise! I blame it on this pregnancy… this little apple sized baby inside me has put me to bed sick! I am however feeling so much better this week so praise the Lord! As of tomorrow we are completely caught up on weddings, portraits and engagements so we’ll be focusing on albums and products, not to mention Kelly and Tim’s wedding this weekend! Anyways, now onto some photos! Harolyn & Rob’s wedding was held at Creekside Conference and Event Center in Gahanna, definitely one of my favorite places to shoot! The lighting, the staff, the food… its all wonderful! Loved Harolyn’s dress and shoes though… I kept saying it was classy up top and had a little drama on the bottom! Check out some photos!

Natalie & Adam {Engaged}

When Natalie first came in for her client meeting all I could think was… what a beautiful bride she’ll make! I was so excited that she and Adam chose us to shoot their engagement photos and wedding. Both of them are a busy couple so when we finally figured a date out for the pictures, they couldn’t have picked a better day! I love that they picked Grandview because hardly any of my couples go there! Here are some of our pictures from their session…
