I can’t tell you how many people ask me if photography is our full time job and if we do this together! Yes, Coty and I do this together and YES this is our full time job! There are only certain times of the year that it feels like a JOB but most of the time it feels pretty good to be a full time photographer! I know Coty feels the same way because if he didn’t, he’d be doing something else for sure! Over the last couple months we have had our moments of feeling antsy in the house, itching to take some pictures and not scheduling sessions until it got warmer! I’ve some sessions scheduled but it just wasn’t enough. Now ask me this in May and I’ll tell you its well enough! So what do we do when we’re antsy, itching and ready to shoot? We take pictures of eachother. I am not vain, I don’t have an ego but my husband does. I can say that because he doesn’t read the blog and its hard for him to fit through the door sometimes… ok kidding but he does have a little bit of an ego! I think thats one of the reasons I married him, because he was a little full of himself and its oh so cute when he comes out all dressed up saying “don’t I look good in this?” It makes me laugh because he does and then it makes me sad because he knows it! So when I asked to go out and take some pictures I didn’t expect him to say to get dressed and we’ll take some of eachother. I was hoping for some cute gate pictures maybe even a cool doorway photo, Coty is a nice too though. So we ventured downtown Delaware for an impromptu photo session. There were a couple bad ones and some great ones. I still took some random photos of Delaware so the shoot was somewhat fulfilling.
I do love working with Coty. I also sometimes hate it. Okay hate is a strong word ,I dislike it at times. I am looking forward to this wedding season though. For the first time in 3 years we’ve figured out better ways of working together. For instance, we don’t do portrait sessions together. Its okay if I get in Coty’s way at a wedding, he just goes around me but at a portrait session its a little more obvious and it gets on Coty’s nerves haha. We’ve also figured out easier ways of editing and getting our clients their photos before their tanned toes leave the sandy beaches of their honeymoon… assuming everyone likes to go somewhere warm for their honeymoon! I am pretty sure the only reason we all wanna go somewhere warm for our honeymoons is because you wear less clothes in that type of climate… so its faster to get undressed! Don’t judge me for saying it! You know you were thinking it! So what was I saying? Oh yes, Coty and I working together. Through good times and bad, I am so thankful we work together. The longer we work together, the more I look forward to having children with him. The thought sounds so much easier with what we do than if he was at a 9-5 kinda job. I commend people who work full time with children! So I just wrote a lot more than I was planning.
Our niece saw this photo and goes "Mad Coty" because his arms were crossed! So cute!
