This is sometimes my favorite article in magazines, I think its because I’m a little nosy but I love knowing whats in other people’s bags! So I decided to dig in our camera bags to show you what we carry at shoots and weddings.
Here is Coty’s bag! I always feel bad because he carries a lot of equipment but then again he does work out like 5 days a week so he’s good for it!
Coty’s Bag: thinkTANK Retrospective. This bag is so comfortable. I have often times grabbed his bag to take on a small shoot because its so comfortable. It had tons of storage and secret pockets too. Distributes the weight nicely and does well with a ton of equipment in it. He needed a bag he could put his 70-200mm in and this worked great.

Lots of film!

Sekonic Light Meter for the Mamiya
24mm 2.8 Nikkor Lens– This lens won’t be in his bag for much longer… its not the best lens out there so we’ll be upgrading soon.
70-200mm Nikkor Lens– Such an amazing lens. This is a must have in wedding photography. Coty uses this lens 90% of the day.

Altoids. This guy will literally go through the whole box by the time we are shooting the reception.
Now for my bag!!
Gracie Mint Camera Bag– I really like this bag. I used the Kelly Moore Classic for a long time and I still love that bag but I needed a change. Coty got this for me for Christmas and I loved the color. The only negative thing is that the shoulder strap is very slick, there is no cushion or traction and that sorta bugs me. I feel like I wear a bag so much that I like to have options, this won’t be my last bag for sure.

Camera Strap: Nicole Berlowski on Etsy. She was amazing. I actually sent her a color off sherwin williams {the same color of my office} and she literally matched it perfectly. She was great to work with and affordable. I was lucky enough to get a gift card from a client for another camera strap so I’m excited to order another! The strap was shorter then my camera strap that came with the camera but I actually liked it shorter.
Nikkor 85mm 1.4- This lens is amazing. I am often jealous of Coty’s 70-200mm photos but when I started using this more frequently, I noticed our photos were a little similar.
Nikkor 50mm 1.2 This is a beautiful lens. I could probably shoot a whole wedding with just this lens. I’ve leaned more towards this for my wedding party and family photos because its so much sharper then the 28mm lens. For my really groups I have to give it up but I love this lens.
Nikkor 28mm- Another lens that won’t be in here for much longer. This and the 24mm are just not the best. I don’t see the sharpness that I desire in my photos so we definitely will be upgrading soon.

Extra batteries for the flash and camera
Oils. Yes, I carry oils! I’ve been using doTERRA oils for over a year now and between bee stings, headaches, stomach aches, nausea or muscle aches we carry these for everyone we’re around. I literally had a bee fly up a bridesmaid’s dress, sting her on the butt and I luckily had lavender on hand and I rubbed some of that on there and she felt great in minutes! I don’t leave home without my oils!
My lucky Crochet Hook. Okay so you’re probably wondering why the heck I carry a crochet hook. I love when bride tells me it’ll take her 5 minutes to get dressed but she forgot her dress has buttons and what was 5 minutes is now taking 30. That is where my crochet hook comes in! For those hard to loop tiny buttons and freshly painted nails, lets avoid pink covered buttons.
EOS lip balm, only mint flavor. I love this lip balm. I have one in my camera bag, purse, on my nightstand and in my car. It doesn’t hurt that it matches my camera bag either.
Some business cards to spread the love!
Last but not least, peppermints. I also carry some gum but I love peppermints.
And just for giggles… here is a typical photobomb in our house. I don’t think I can ever take a photo without Molly or a dog in the photo.
I love what’s in your bag! Do you love the D800? And I love that you shoot film as well!
I do love our d800’s! Its very different then film, we’re still working on our film shots!
