I am so thrilled to finally share our very first Styled Shoot titled Urban Romance featured on Wedding Chicks. Its always such an honor to have our work featured on a blog or in a magazine and it never could be possible without our amazing contributors. I had this idea of doing a styled shoot come to me around February and I knew I wanted it to be early spring and I love how it all unfolded. I am definitely going to be blogging about how to put together a styled shoot here shortly so stay tuned for that! I have to thank our amazing vendors because they brought their own creative aspects to the shoot and it came out exactly the way I pictured it!
I had this idea of photographing something so beautiful against something super urban and almost messy. I found Strongwater Columbus through a fellow photographer’s post and I immediately was smitten. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Every corner had a new place to photograph and I loved it. I have a small obsession with watercolor so I incorporated that into the shoot, Kenzie with Ivory House Creative brought the watercolor to live on the invitations and escort cards. She added a little gold to accent the navy blue and Ashby Floral Boutique did the same. I love the touches of gold in the bouquet and centerpiece, she even had it in the greenery around the escort cards. There just happened to be an old bed frame all rusted up leaning up against the wall that we put the escort cards on and it was hilarious because we almost rented an old bed frame! Happy Accidents are my favorite. She added some watercolor to the little candles so up against the navy tablecloth, I loved those little details. Of course Jackie with Ivy Bridal chose a Hayley Paige dress, I think she knows that is my favorite designer. The lines in the fabric along with the romantic yet modern sweetheart neckline was more than perfect, I had actually pinned that very same dress as inspiration and she brought it to life! I also love the hairpiece she brought which added the right touch of gold to her romantic hairstyle that Michelle designed for Brittany. I actually found the light blue tie at Nordstrom Rack the day before and it now resides in Coty’s closet, I love it. The cake was gorgeous, I love that she added some gold detail to the watercolor and the flower was almost identical to the ones Daphne made for the ceremony backdrop, and they did not plan that! I love when creative minds think alike! So lets talk about those paper flowers, I mean seriously? They were gorgeous! When I first started planning out the details and coming up with a color scheme, I knew I needed to have some silk & willow ribbon somewhere in my design. When we all agreed on Navy and watercolor, my first purchase was silk & willow ribbon! I now use it for our packaging because it just so happen to match our brand! I’ll claim that as a coincidence 😉 Jesse Johnson with Store 5a in Columbus added some amazing jewelry to the shoot, he’s opening up jewelry store here soon and I cannot wait to see whats in store for him!
I am just over the moon about how this shoot turned out. To see more photos from the shoot please check out Wedding Chicks!
