So these contests have been amazing. I’ve had fun answering questions, seeing new fans and anticipating new clients. Our last contest is our wedding season and it was set to launch a couple days ago so I apologize for the delay. We made it a point this “off season” to soak in as much free time as we can. I know we have some albums, emails and edits to do but with little weddings on the books from January to April, I am soaking in the day. Soaking in silly moments with my daughter, because they go by so quickly. Something as simple as her playing in my bag of makeup as she’s surrounded by hundreds of her own toys, just makes me laugh. She likes to carry around a very tightly closed bottle of baby oil instead of her own stuffed animal or plush toy. Anything unconventional, she will pick up and walk around with for hours. I noticed that once August hit its as if August until December was a blur. No matter what I do, or what I say, I can’t get those moments back with her. I love my job more then anything but Molly is growing up so fast I can’t keep up. Balance is something I struggle with. Ask Coty. He says I need medicated because I can’t stay focused on one task at a time… I can check off every requirement for being diagnosed for ADD. But there is nothing for balance except prayer and support from family. As if things don’t get crazier I’m following through with some of my dreams and I’m making them happen, except I have a feeling these things will only happen when I put Molly to bed.
I think one thing is for sure, changes are coming. Good changes I promise. I was dealing with a lot of anxiety at the beginning of the year and I found that turning the email notification off on my phone cleared the way for a quiet day. I do find that when I finally check my phone for emails I’ll get more then I used to at one time but I never imagined such a relief by doing something so simple. I think every year around this time I say changes are coming and they do. I’m so thankful for faithful and understanding clients who get that the artist in me wants to keep things creative. You’ll notice new looks on the blog, an updated site coming soon. Now to get my house organized…
