That’s what boys are made of…
I had the pleasure of throwing my sister-in-law Tori a baby shower in September with her best friend and my past bride Ashton. Ashton and I are two of the same, together we make fabulous planners and if we lived in the same town we decided we’d be in business together. I think we’d call our business the blue mason girls! Needless to say there was a lot of Ashton & I’s style mixed with Tori’s style. Tori has always loved her heritage, anything vintage and meaningful but she also loves her modern clean lines so we used Ashton’s mom’s gorgeous home and lots and lots of mason jars. Ashton’s mother-in-law loaned us some old books and blocks that were the perfect touch to the shower. We asked that guests not bring a card and give the baby a book instead. Its the perfect idea to start building up a child’s bookshelf and help jump-start reading, and he got a ton that day. Did I mention she’s having a boy? I made some cute banners for everything, I have a thing for banners, and I get to use my cricut! I love tying in what the momma-to-be is craving so of course we had a Mexican themed menu. I am pretty sure when I visited Tori and I both had Mexican twice… who doesn’t love some chips and salsa. So with some tacos, chips, salsa and of course queso dip! The burlap table runner tied in the vintage theme we were going for and of course more mason jars. Being that we had the blue mason jars, baby’s breath was the perfect touch but remember, set out the baby’s breath the day before because it sorta stinks!
I loved designing the invite. Tori mentioned the nursery was going to have stripes on the wall, so I went with the green, blue & gray color scheme and added a little chevron. I love chevron.
Ashton came up with the cutest idea of DIY cheesecake station… so good. So of course they were in mini mason jars and we had oreos, cherries, strawberries & graham cracker. I won’t lie to you, I had two. And the cream puffs… lets just say Ashton slaved over those. 🙂
