I’ll admit, I was a little excited to throw this party. What I didn’t know is that we would close on our home just 2 weeks before the party and not even get the keys until a week before. Stressful? Yes! Worth it? Totally! I had the amazing help of my family to pull this fabulous party off and it was better then I thought it’d be. At the beginning of the year the theme of her party was going to be a Cat in the Hat party… yes I start planning that far in advance. So the pinning began and her love of the Cat began to dwindle. We then switched it to Elmo, it was going to be red and turquoise and lots of Elmo. Then I switched it to a rainbow chevron party, and again back to the red and turquoise. Then on our trip to Colorado, Molly met Winnie the Pooh… and since then she’s had a love for Pooh’s honey pot, piglet & tigger. Every morning she gets in bed with us and asks to watch Pooh, so how could I not throw her a Pooh Party? I added her favorite color Purple and we had a purple pooh party. I had been watching Pooh non-stop for a couple months and I actually noticed that the color lavender was used a lot on the show, I loved the colors they used in the design of the show, made it so sweet. Anyways, so I started my pinning again and came up with some cute ideas for the food, decor & activities! I kept reminding myself she’s only 2 but she had so much fun. I decided on some fun finger foods and also some of Molly’s favorites for the menu. We had Piglet in a blanket, Kanga & Roo’s Hoppin Hummus, Rabbit’s Garden, Tigger bites & some very yummy hot chocolate! Everything was done with a DIY mindset, I got a little crafty with Popsicle sticks, moss balls & old wood! My dad apparently brushed up on his memory of Winnie the Pooh by watching some videos on youtube before making the super cute sign. I love my parents. I wanted a rustic yet chic party for my sweet girl and I have to say… I think I did a pretty good job at achieving that! For only being a photographer, I think I plan quite well! I guess I have to blame it on shooting over 30 weddings a year… they give me too great of ideas not to do myself! I’ve already decided I’m not having a party next year… then again I think I said that last year!
We decided pinning the tail on a donkey just wasn’t enough… we then began a game of “Pin the tail on Kyle” then “Pin the tail on your moms” It was pretty funny to see them all swarm the adults!
