So, I know I’m not one of those bloggers that sit and write about everything thats going on in detail with some elaborte and beautiful words, so I apologize now if I tell my stories through pictures. Today I actually am writing, and if you’re lucky I’ll leave a picture on the end of something! So this week is our work week, not only on Rachel & Nick’s wedding from Saturday, which was FABULOUS, but we’re working on album design, promotional work and house work… yes HOUSE work! There are so many perks and downfalls to working at home like perk #1 I get to work in my pajamas all day if I want. Downfall#1 if the laundry is piling high I’ll feel it staring me down as I edit in the office and I hate folding clothes! Perk #2 I get to sit side by side with my hubby all day long and listen to music, watch tv on the laptop and share photos. Downfall #2 I have to sit side by side with my hubby and if we’re not feelin’ the love that day its a little more tense and the earphones go ON! Perk #3 Our dogs are the perfect break in the day to play and exercise with! Downfall#3 I don’t have a starbucks in walking distance and I don’t make good coffee! Okay so the downfalls aren’t that bad, and I have to admit we have it pretty good when it comes to jobs! This weekend my brother & sister-in-law are coming to visit us! So that lit a fire under me to get the guest room all fixed up for guests which lead to moving the living room around, when then made us realize the dogs are jumping on the windows and we need to put something in front of the windows to fix that problem.
Okay so I’m not telling you all this to just talk, all these things lead us to Target who we then ran into Lara Davis-Hicks! I get her and her other sisters mixed up so when I saw her I couldn’t figure out which one she was, they all have blonde hair and gorgeous smiles and kids. Some of you may know this or may not but after we got back from our honeymoon, we had the oppurtunity to put our wedding attire back on and go out on a Wednesday evening and have Jim & Lara Davis-Hicks take our pictures. I couldn’t tell you how floored I was, Coty was not as thrilled but he got over it when we pulled into their driveway. It was a bit awkward walking into their gorgeous house in my big wedding dress but we had so much fun with it. Coty had tossed the idea of becoming a photography team together on our honeymoon but what Jim & Lara don’t know is they really were the ones that made Coty walk away and say “I want to do what they’re doing”. So when we ran into Lara and her 3 kids, although they were probably getting ready to check out Lara stopped to chat a bit about life, photography and Thirst Relief. We heard the story 2 years ago and just thinking about it still gives me chills. I’d tell the story but I don’t want to butcher it, so I’ll sum it up. I remember Jim saying something along the lines that God literally just told him I want you to bring water to those who do not have it. Now again, this was two hears ago and Coty and I were in the back of the van on the way to some random spot under the interstate on a hot day in July… so if I’m totally butchering this story forgive me! What I do remember is getting chills, and thinking how amazing it was that God was so clear on what He wanted from Jim and his family.
I know some of you read our blog, you follow the stories of other couples I post on here and catch up with us on our crazy boxers. So I just felt the need to share some information on Thirst Relief. After running into Lara, I immediately went home to catch up on Jim’s recent trip to Tanzania and what they were doing next. I noticed there is a golf benefit coming up in September at the Lakes Golf & Country Club. Coty wishes he could get involved but we have Alicia & Chris’ wedding that day so unfortunately we’ll be there. But not everyone has a wedding so I wanted to let you in on how you can help out Thirst Relief! Just check out the website and you’ll get all the information there on the golf benefit or how to make a donation.
Well, I am off to finish some work in the office then finish some work in the house. I was reading Jasmine Star’s blog the other day and I feel like I wanted to adopt her daily schedule… I could so turn the computer off everyday at 6:30 and be happy with that. Anyways, love you all!
