After Molly was born I really saw the importance of having a family photo taken. Obviously I have a camera myself and can take her photo whenever I want but its nice to actually be IN a photo with her rather then behind the camera. I also quickly learned that its hard to do the self timer thing… Molly doesn’t really get it. The best part of having photographer friends is being able to do a little trade so I asked our good friends’ Rachel & Jared of Jacobus Photography to capture this fun time in our lives. I am an obsessive planner so I find so much joy in planning our outfits, location and styling the shoot. I also love what my sister has done with my hair so selfishly, I want to remember my good hair day. When planning the shoot I knew I wanted the photos to look warm, cozy & look good in our house. Since my house is a very coastal cool home I need to warm up the walls with the photos for the fall and winter season. I love the photos we have up there now but they’re very summery. So we went for a neutral cream & gray tones for the first half of the shoot. Then for the second half we did some blues, grays and small pop of color on molly. I love how Rachel captured us being ourselves, little spontaneous, fun and romantic. If she really wanted to capture us we’d have one small tantrum in the middle of the session… luckily we were tantrum free that evening. Here is our fun fall session at Branstool Orchard in Utica by Jacobus Photography! HUGE thanks to them for these amazing photos!
Canvas Alert! Going to be going over bed this month!
Another favorite of Coty and I… love love love!
Love this moment Rachel got of Molly & I. She loves to talk about our eyes… mine our blue and hers are carmel brown 🙂
My daughter… loves to stick her tongue out. I’ll be correcting this before her teen years to not be mistaken with the miley cyrus pose.
This photo hit Coty and I hard. We looked at it and were both like “wow… she looks so grown up here”.
Now this was perfection…. This sums up Molly & Coty’s relationship… pure fun!
My favorite photo of Molly and I… I couldn’t be more obsessed with this photo. Thank you again Rachel & Jared!
