On December 13th we celebrated Molly’s first birthday. Has it really been a year? I kept asking myself that question. I kept reliving each moment from a year ago as if it was yesterday. On Saturday we threw Molly a birthday party so family from out of town could make it and it was beautiful. Since last year on the date she was born it was snowing like crazy, it was only fitting to do a pink and blue snowflake party. Pink and blue because she looks best in those colors. It was wonderful and she was showered with gifts and love like the day she was born. I seriously couldn’t believe she was a year already… the moments have flown by and its the memories and the photos I have to hold onto. Top of my “want” to-do list is scrapbook. I have 3 unfinished books so we’ll see how far I get this time. I get asked all the time how it goes juggling being a mom, wife, photographer and business owner and honestly I don’t know what to say sometimes. Some days I say “I’m standing here so that’s good” and other days I think I have it all figured out. Well with Molly’s ever changing schedule all I can do is stick to some routine. Coty, well he’s stuck with me so its a constant up and down and I love him all the same. I do get a little break from January to May to work on things I don’t have time to work on during the busy season.
My friend Kelly and I were talking about something, who knows what, but it was brought up that I am so lucky to do what I do. Being a photographer and having a passion for my job has got to be the best thing ever. I couldn’t agree more BUT making a passion, hobby and artwork your job means you’re constantly doing it. I sometimes find myself not wanting to pick up the camera. After 4 years in the business and going onto our 5th season, I’m ready to put the camera down, soak in the moments and only take personal photos. Personal photos. I sometimes can’t remember what those are. Okay so I’m kidding, I take pictures of Molly almost everyday. But to go out to the park, stop and breath in the fresh air and THEN take a non rushed, non posed, non calculated photo… that is what my goal is this off season.
Picture time. Here’s some photos of Molly’s super cute birthday!
