First Look!

We have had the amazing oppurtunity to be a part of some wonderful moments with this family! It first started with Nate & Maria back in 2008, then Amy & Steve’s wedding in 2009 {steve is jule’s brother, emily & jules were dating at the time} then we had Emily & Jule’s wedding in May of 2011 and finally Gia & Rich’s wedding this August… Gia is Maria & Emily’s cousin! Did you get all that? Not only have we shot their weddings but we’ve shot the engagement sessions, maternity, newborn & family photos… I can’t get enough of them! We feel like family when we shoot their weddings and its more then we could ask for! I got to know Gia & Rich at their engagement session while they were home for Christmas in 2011. Rich is from England so I’m assuming Gia’s heart melted when he first said hello. They met while she was on missions in England and God totally brought the two together. Little did I know she was the one who introduced Christine & Alex… we shot their wedding in May of this year! Okay so I’m talking too much… I just love them! From Gia:

The main goal of our wedding day was for it to be personal. Because Rich is from the UK and I am from the US we knew we needed to create an environment where everyone felt they could get to know us as a couple. That was my main motivation in all the DIY details from the invitations to the dinner menu to the guest book to the dancing. I wanted to convey that we are a fun, homespun, classic and down to earth couple through the color scheme, outfits, wildflowers and the burlap. When we found the fairy-tale venue at The Darby House, complete with a horse drawn carriage, the whole wedding started to come together. I chose my colors (yellow, light blue and gray), my theme (homespun with recycled materials, burlap and family items) and ran with it. Some of my projects were: invitations, centerpieces, menus, napkin rings, bunting, table runners, dyed mason jars and take home cookie bags. Each project brought the wedding to life and made the day so special and personal.
