One thing Coty and I really pride ourselves on is the fact that we do in fact edit our photos. This blog entry could go on for days because I could say one thing and go off on a tangent or say another thing and wanna explain myself then too! So I’ll try and keep this simple by explaining with a photo! Read on…
I love how I don’t have to go into such detail trying to explain what editing is. I will say this, Nicole was beautiful to begin with. To touchen up the photo I smoothed out the skin a little, brightened it a tintsy bit and then did that cool sharpen thing I do to almost all my photos! I’ll give one more example!
With a little cropping, smoothing action and my amazing sharpener, this picture is one of my faves!
Ah, yes, this is one topic of photography that can either make or break you. A lot of photographers have branded themselves on a certain look that when you see it in a magazine or your friend’s facebook page, you know who the photographer was. I have found a way to brand ourselves by being both. Of course someone else’s definition of HIP and CLASSIC could be totally different things. Its all in how you interpret the photo. Here are a couple examples of HIP vs. Classic! I started with our classic look, classic b/w and merged into some more “hip” type of work. Its hard because the longer I do this more I go back to this “classic” look. I want clients to hang photos on the wall and not feel that they need to take them down because of some weird orange tone to their photo that I did because it was “cool” at the time I shot their wedding. I love that we are in a day of digital photography and its easy to make a photo look so many different ways. Ahhh… I love my job!
Thank you Tad & Nicole for being my models for this blog! You are both fabulously beautiful!
