Coty and I first met Katie & Derek the day he moved here from Colorado. With bloodshot eyes and in need of caffeine, we offered some beer from the breweries of Colorado instead of coffee, he gladly obliged! You know you really love someone if you leave the mountains of Colorado to live in Ohio. We visited there a few years ago and absolutely loved it in the mountains, I was partial to the red rocks, those are my favorite. So when we planned their engagement in the city that she loves, we opted for some classic photos in German Village and then some country shots. Partially through the session we were getting to know them and realized they weren’t really country folk. Mountain climbing & adventurous yes… country field walking… no. I think thats what I love about engagement sessions the most is that I get to know the couple so well and it makes the day so much more fun. So they changed clothes and off the top of my head I remembered an awesome mural in Columbus so I prayed the parking lot would be empty and we’d hit the jackpot… which we did. We had such a great time with them and we cannot wait for their May wedding next year! I can’t eat chipotle now without thinking of Katie and her love of chipotle! I’m literally counting down the months to their wedding, its going to be epic!
