I’ve literally sat in front of my computer for over 10 minutes trying to figure out what to blog about so I have finally come to terms that until my film comes in, I’ve got lots of tips on lots of photos but I’m just going to blog about blogging. I personally love blogging, I love giving info to brides and other photographers and I love sharing photos. But can I be really transparent right now?! I can’t do it everyday. I have three beautiful kids that really would love my attention and they aren’t the best sleepers so those precious minutes in a day where they are all asleep or maybe playing quietly on the floor, I can’t always spend blogging. I’ve come to terms that I can’t keep up with frequent bloggers but I’ve also recognized how much it helps our business. I find blogging a little therapeutic so its hard not to get to it everyday. So this is just one step to finding balance in my life. Forever I’ll be weighing out the teeter-totter I like to call working from home with kids.
In the greater scheme of things, people may not remember my thoughts on a first look but my kids will remember when I read them books and that to me is more priceless than anything. So if you don’t see my blog frequently being updated every single day, this is why. Thankfully we have found some amazing people to come to our home and hang out with our kids so we can get some work done. This only has happened recently and I’m beyond thankful for them. I’ve been setting goals to blog at least 4 times a week! Between bridal tips, photography tips, our sessions, weddings or maybe even a personal update or thought like this one, I have enough info to meet this blog! Having some flexibility in my new found life as a mother of 3 is key here! I’ve always come down on myself pretty hard about stuff in the past but I’m paving a new path for myself with a whole new attitude. If I blog, I blog. If I don’t, its OK! I have seen some amazing things happen to our business since I started blogging more and more and I can’t deny the fact that blogging really is so great for our business. But again, its a constant teeter totter. When my business is consuming me, my kids are up a lot, a little cranky and needing some attention. So to find more balance, I’m going to blog a little less and spend a little more time with my kids. Because lets be honest, the photos below explain it all.
The boys are 8 months old. I cannot believe it. Still not mobile so I’m not complaining ONE BIT!
