The weather was gorgeous for it being December so we bundled the kids up and took them outside. Molly’s birthday was that weekend so she was getting picked up by her gigi & papa to go on a special date to Easton to build a bear, dinner & icecream. It was a whole weekend of celebrating Molly, I was only praying she wouldn’t expect a whole weekend for the rest of her life after this! We decided to grab the 35mm, load it with some black & white film & photograph our kids for an hour. A lot happens in an hour with a 5 year old and two one year olds. But the look of joy getting to play outside in the middle of December is priceless. We have had unusually warm weather so we’ve taken advantage every time it says its going to be over 50 outside. If I had one little goal for 2016 it would be something like this. I love pulling out old photos of myself and my siblings when we were kids. My mom took such great photos of us and for that I am grateful. Its so easy to pull out that phone and snap a shot but I feel like those are so temporary and no matter the phone, they just aren’t great quality. I want more moments like this where I invest in my kids. its so easy to snap away with a digital but when I shoot film I feel so much more invested in the moment. I think my kids will later appreciate the moments we’ve captured on film, or at least I hope.
This was epic. Film Lab: Photovision
