When Coty and I made our list of all the places we wanted to go to this year to take photos, I hate to admit it but Pennsylvania was not on that list. Our first wedding we shot was in Lancaster Pennsylvania and on the way home we stopped at Gettysburg for 2 days, which ended up being two days too many. I will tell you that the hotel we stayed in was beautiful and the bed was the most comfy hotel bed I’ve ever slept in, other then that it was cold, gray and very historical but not a vacation. Needless to say, my experience in Pennsylvania hasn’t ever been the most awesome so I never thought twice. When Becky first emailed us about her wedding we were unfortunately booked on her date. I immediately swooned over her venue and was really bummed to be giving her referrals. A month or so later I get a pleasant surprise email, they changed their date AND venue! The best part, we were available! The venue was just as beautiful and I love how she really valued photography in the wedding planning. It wasn’t until we arrived in PA for their engagement did I really start to realize how awesome this couple was. They truly are a dream couple and I don’t even think they know it! We had the best time and to top off a great night we splurged and went to Applebees. Fancy, I know. Since we were driving back the next morning and it was late in the evening, we pulled into the first place we saw and it just so happened to be this place. We didn’t care, it was so much fun to chat with them and get to know them better! We typically are on the clock with a babysitter at home and leave right after an engagement but it was great to not have any excuses not to be like normal adults and have a drink! We just had such a great time with them and cannot wait for their wedding in September! Oh and by the way, Pennsylvania should be on EVERYONE’S list! Its amazing!
