So as most of you know Henry Photography will be adding a 3rd photographer, well at least we hope our baby will be a photographer like their mommy and daddy! Our doctor told us that they wouldn’t inform us of the sex of the baby until we were 20 weeks and being the antsy parents-to-be we just couldn’t wait that long. My sister had gone to get a 3-d ultrasound done to find out what she was having so we decided to go the same route. There were so many fun ideas we had of how we would tell everyone what we were having and it was clear that we would tell the family the weekend of Coty’s birthday since his family would be in town from Indiana. So on July 27th Coty and I went to the 3d Ultrasound place that would tell us if we were going to have a son or daughter. As we sat there in the waiting room I started to get so nervous about this moment. Then this family came out of the room and the woman that worked there said they were having a boy Coty turned to me and said “well they’re having a boy so we’re probably having a girl then. No way we’re having a boy too.” So when they brought us until the dark room that could literally fit 20 people comfortably she put the wand on my slowly growing stomach and 2 seconds later were the magic words “Its a GIRL!” I think Coty and I both said “are you sure” a couple times because it was so fast. Then the next moments were just as beautiful watching our daughter suck on her thumb, move around and stretch out. She had long arms like her me and we swear her head is shaped like Cotys, it doesn’t hurt that his head is shaved so its easy to see it! I loved her more that moment then I ever loved anything in my life. Those 3d ultrasounds are amazing though, what a business to have looking at babies, such a miracle. The moment we got home from our appointment Coty was already online buy our little girl Dallas Cowboys stuff. He now knows about the amazing website etsy.com and that you can get really cute hair bows on there… which he bought two!
A week later, yes a WEEK, we told our family. Coty wanted to give my mom a hard time so we made them wait until after dinner to share the big news. I had made a little slideshow with all our ultrasound photos put together and at the end were the 3 ultrasound photos saying it was a girl, so funny to watch my dad jump up and do a little dance because he called it. Everyone was convinced it was a boy, except for him! My Gramma Pat had even bought a little boy outfit which was hilarious! We are all so excited to add another girl to this big family we have, we also love the fact that my little niece will have a best friend so close in age!
